Boat Tour to Marzamemi and Portopalo – from Avola

A unique boat (or dinghy) experience among the wonders of Sicily's southeastern coast, immersed in pristine nature, snorkeling, and authentic flavors. A day designed for those who want to experience the sea, history, and Sicilian traditions from a privileged perspective: that of the sea. ⚓ Departure from the Avola Nautical Club The excursion begins from the small port of Avola, from which we sail along the coast, passing the picturesque Lido di Noto, until reaching the Vendicari Nature Reserve. Swimming Stops at Eloro, Marianelli, and Calamosche During the voyage, several swimming stops are planned near the reserve's most enchanting beaches: Eloro, Marianelli, and the iconic Calamosche. The boat will come as close as possible to the coast to admire the ancient tuna fishery, the historic heart of the reserve, and discover its origins through the staff's stories. Snorkeling above the Marzamemi Underwater Museum The second part of the tour includes a stop off the coast of Marzamemi, at the underwater museum, where three Roman columns rest on the seabed, approximately 7 meters deep. Masks and fins will be provided by the staff for those who wish to snorkel and explore this fascinating underwater archaeological site. Portopalo di Capo Passero: History and Panoramas The sail continues towards Portopalo di Capo Passero, where you can admire the majestic Tafuri Castle, the Spanish Fortress, and the ancient Tonnara from the sea. There will be a stop of approximately 45 minutes for a relaxing swim and to enjoy the view. Sicilian Lunch on Board During the break, the crew will serve a delicious typical Sicilian lunch of arancini and rosticceria. Strolling in Marzamemi and final cremolata After lunch, we will set sail for the picturesque village of Marzamemi. Here, participants will have approximately 40 minutes of free time to explore the historic center, where we recommend savoring a homemade fresh fruit cremolata (not included in the tour) and discovering the unique atmosphere of this seaside village. Return to Avola The return trip by boat takes approximately 40 minutes. To ensure a punctual departure, participants are advised to arrive at the dock on time.
